Was a male-male kiss censored at the Oscars?

Controversy rages over a scene not shown on the Oscars telecast: Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin kissing and dancing while en route to the podium to bestow the award for adapted screenplay. As the duo appeared on stage, dressed in matching white tuxedos and ties, TV cameras briskly cut away to a shot of Bardem's wife, Penelope Cruz, beaming in the audience.

Barry Pepper Talks True Grit

Canadian character actor, Barry Pepper best known for his roles in Saving Private Ryan and The Green Mile, has some big shoes to fill in the new version of True Grit (2010). He will be playing Ned Pepper, a role originally played by Robert Duvall. Pepper was recently asked about the film and how he felt about reinterpreting Duvall's role.


"You know, I had never seen the original and I had been asked to read for this part of "Lucky" Ned Pepper, of all names. I thought, well this is a bit of type casting, to come to a Pepper to play a Pepper. So I read for the part and I created the character, not knowing what Bob had done. Western movies

I've never been much of a fan of Westerns, but I have to say that they've been garnering an interest with me of late. Certainly John Wayne, John Ford and Clint Eastwood are the grandfathers of the classic Western. I wonder who would be considered the gold standard for modern movies? Daniel Day Lewis? Kevin Costner? Kurt Russell? Will Smith? I can't decide. Kick back in the comments!
